Jack Wagner Returns to Daytime
LOS ANGELES - CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful" is getting a new character, ill-fated seas captain Dominick Payne, in the form of a familiar face to soap opera fans, Jack Wagner. Wagner, who played secret agent man Frisco Jones on ABC's daytime drama "General Hospital" from 1983-91 and Dr. Peter Burns on FOX's primetime saga "Melrose Place" from 1994-99, will begin shooting his scenes on Tuesday, Feb. 25. His initial appearance takes place aboard a sinking freighter. "How Jack's character is woven into the existing storylines on our show is going to be quite a surprise for our viewers," says Bradley Bell, executive producer and head writer for "The Bold and the Beautiful," about Payne, who works for the show's shipping tycoon Massimo Marone (Joe Mascolo). "It will change the relationships of many of the existing characters on the show." Wagner, an avid golfer, has also dabbled in music in addition to his acting career. He's appeared on Broadway in the musical "Jekyll & Hyde" as well as in the national tours of "West Side Story" and "Grease." Additional television roles include "Knots Landing," "Santa Barbara" and "Sunset Beach." "The Bold and the Beautiful" airs Monday through Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS. |
