Star STYLE
JOSIE BISSETT
Josie Bissett, an original Melrose Place cast member, recently rejoined the nighttime soap as a stronger version of the long-suffering Jane Mancini. Josie says it was her pixie haircut that first caught the eyes of MP producers. "My short blonde hair set me apart from other blonde actresses. So I don't know if , as a blonde, I had more fun, but I think I got more work - and I'm having fun now." For the past eight years, Josie has been sharing the good times with MP co-star Rob Estes (Kyle), whom she married in 1992.
WARDROBE: Josie may play a fashion designer on Melrose Place, but high fashion doesn't play a big part in her real life. In fact, the 27-year-old actress says she skips most big media events like movie premieres because, "Going requires finding something to wear and putting on makeup when I just want to go in my sweats. I'm glamming up all day at work. It's the last thing I want to do in my free time." When the devout homebody must dress up for a special event, you'll usually find her in basic black. Her one fashion fetish is hats; she has an amazing collection.

BEAUTY: One thing Josie doesn't like about her job is the heavy makeup she must wear for TV. To counter the adverse effects of stage makeup, she takes a steam bath every evening. The former model insists on doing her own makeup while on the job. "I usually leave the eyelid pretty neutral, then I put on adarker color on the crease of the lid and a little liner." Every few months, she checks herself into The Golden Door spa for massaging, body wraps, and skin-softening exfoliation. The otherwise straight-laced actress has three tattoos - twoo on her groin; one on her butt. And she never goes out without Chap Stick.

EXERCISE: Josie keeps her slim body taut by walking and yoga. "I power walk using arm weights twice a week for about an hour," says the blonde beauty. "I try to fit in a 90-minute yoga class twice a week, too." Joining her at yoga classes is her husband, Rob, who also likes to engage his wife in the occassional spirited game of baseball or basketball. "Josie is a great basketball player," says Rob. If there's one part of her body Josie would like to change, it's her stick-figure legs. "Building muscle is a lifetime commitment and a very challenging one."

DIET: The 113-pound actress has an enviable problem - keeping weight on her 5-foot-six-inch frame. Therefore, Josie's diet is aimed at keeping healthy, not staying slim. Josie keeps up with all the latest news about how diets affects health and tailors her meals accordingly. "I cut sugar out of my diet and try to eat several small meals a day instead of three big ones. I only use olive oil. I also try to eat fish at least three times a week." And she makes sure she eats at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. "If I know I'm not eating enough veggies, I'll drink them," says Josie, whose favorite juices are carrot, beet, and celery. Knowing that soy may prevent breast cancer, she pours soy milk on cereal, and uses tofu in stir-fry dishes. Instead of waking up with coffee, Josie begins each day with a tall glass of iced green tea because it's loaded with antioxidants.
