SHE'S NOT LEAVING
While other cast members go, Kelly Rutherford
and Megan remain at MELROSE PLACE
MELROSE PLACE's Kelly Rutherford (Megan) has the kind of packed resume most actors would kill for. Aside from playing Sam on the short-lived soap GENERATIONS from 1989-1991, Rutherford has starred on primetime series like 1991's HOMEFRONT.
But she's probably best known as MP's resident hooker-turned-heroine, formerly married to the scheming Michael and now involved with Coop. Megan is Rutherford's longest-running role, and though many of her fellow cast members will be packing up and moving out by summer's end, this actress is pleased to announce that she and Megan are not going anywhere.
In July, she resumed to work on 34 new episodes of what might be the show's last season. "I'm in all of them," Rutherford says proudly.
Of course, her character will undoubtedly go through some major upheavals during the coming months, thanks to the comings and goings of other actors. Linden Ashby (Coop) has been let go and will be off the
show by summer's end. And Michael will be dealing with his long-suffering first wife, thanks to the return of Josie Bissett (Jane).
Where does that leave Megan? In the midst of a Megan/Michael/Jane triangle? Or she may get a different story altogether, as recently named co-producer Heather Locklear (Amanda) takes MP in a new direction.
