Executives at MELROSE PLACE recently asked readers of a magazine to call, write and E-mail FOX to demand that nighttime's most guilty pleasure be renewed for another season. Although the FOX soap hasn't been kicking butt ratings-wise lately, this season has been fascinating. From Jamie Luner's (Lexi) rollercoaster performance to Kyle's (Rob Estes) descent into dysfunctional hell - and a renewed focus on core characters - most would agree that this is one of MP's finest years. Can you imagine Monday nights without Amanda backstabbing someone? Another reason why MP has sizzled this year is the addition of the mesmerizing Rena Sofer (Eve; ex-Lois, GH). This Daytime Emmy winner is unique both physically and emotionally, especially on a show not known for its acting and subtlety. Memo to Aaron Spelling: Sign her on for infinity because we absolutely love her!
