BOOTH MOORE

Some of the efforts were more successful than others, but that doesn't mean their hearts weren't in the right place: Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Bacon, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Laura Leighton (below) and comedy writer Bruce Vilanch designed holiday cards to benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles. Our favorite, as our choice of illustration proves, is by photographer Davis Factor (above), great-grandson of cosmetics pioneer Max. Cards are available at Soolip Paperie & Press in West Hollywood. Check out the originals online until Dec. 15 at http://auctions.yahoo.com.

A sophisticated use of textured papers and dried flowers to express peace for the holiday season and compassion for those living with HIV/AIDS - One of the images that was selected for reproduction.
Laura creates a lovely monochromatic design using silver and gold stars framed perfectly in translucent paper and sealed with a star.

Laura Leighton earned a Golden Globe nomination and a Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award for her role as Sydney on "Melrose Place." Since then Ms. Leighton has gone on to star in numerous television and independent film projects.

I was going to buy some of Laura's cards, but they're $10 each. Not for a box, but apiece. That's too steep for my limited budget.
