Pretty weak episode tonight. Nothing much happened.

It started out with Lexi telling Megan that between the scotch and the vodka she figured out that it was Megan who told Amanda about her starting the rumor that Amanda slept with Drew to win the award. Scotch and vodka - sounds like puke city, a town I've visited often. Anyway, how did Lexi come to that conclusion? She didn't know Megan overheard Drew chewing her out. And practically everyone at the awards ceremony heard the rumor from Lexi. Any one of them could have told Amanda. So Megan could have denied cluing Amanda in.

But she didn't, so Lexi fired her. Megan reminded her that she's her only friend, so she was rehired. They literally kissed and made up. There was the perfect opportunity for a lesbian love scene but the producers didn't take advantage of the situation.

Eve invited Peter to her apartment so that she could make all his fantasies come true. Peter had to think about it before saying yes. HELLOOOO! She's a babe. What was there to think about?

The opening montage of sites in Hollywood included the famous "Clown Ballerina" statue. Too bad "Clown Ballerina" is located in Venice Beach.

Michael had been hearing creaking sounds at the beach house. The ghost of Kimberly? No such luck. The foundation needed reenforcing so he'll have to move out for a few months. Hmmm, I wonder where he'll move to?

Megan retrieved the phallic trophy from Lexi and brought it to Amanda. Amanda didn't want it and threw it in the trash. Megan should have taken it since she's sworn off men.

Surprise, surprise! Michael moved back to The Place. He said Amanda offered him a discount and that it was the only apartment available in LA. Talk about preposterous. Amanda giving a discount.

Eve thought Peter had stood her up. She went down to his apartment where he was tied up on the phone with hospital business. He apologized. She proceeded to fulfill his fantasies while Amanda watched through the open blinds. Bet she wished she had a camera.

Jane agreed to model for Alex. During the photoshoot, Jane freaked. She quit. She didn't like being told how to smile, where to look and how to stand. DUH! That's what models do.

So Alex told Amanda that if she wants to retain him as a client, she has to get Jane to leave Michael for him. Amanda didn't seem to have a problem with that. It wouldn't be the first time Madam Amanda asked one of her employees to prostitute herself. She told Sam to sleep with Jeff so that he would agree to be the spokesperson for one of her clients.

Eve performed a song I actually recognized, Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me."

Eve left a message on Peter's answering machine. After their one night together, she went "Fatal Attraction" on him. She thinks they're a couple now. He doesn't. Good thing he doesn't have any pet rabbits.

Amanda burst into Jane's apartment to demand that she apologize to Alex. She said that if she loses one hot client, all the others will follow. That theory doesn't hold water. Ad agencies lose clients all the time without others following.

Amanda went to Burns/Mancini to tell Peter not to hurt Eve. While in the elevator, there was a power outage. I hate when that happens. In a bit of a panic, Amanda told Peter to do something. Yeah. He's going to take a portable generator out of his briefcase and bypass the power supply to the elevator to get it going again.

So to bide the time, they talked about their failed marriage. It's been so long, I can't remember why they divorced. Can anyone refresh my memory?

The power outage was city-wide. Michael didn't see where he was walking and fell into the pool. He said to Jane that there should be emergency lights by the pool. There should be. In LA, we have blackouts all the time.

Just as Michael went to his car to bring in his TV and clock radio, a police car cruised by a mistook him for a looter. Since he fell into the pool, his wallet with all his ID was drying out in his apartment. So instead of saying to the cop, "Let's go inside, check my ID and talk to my fiancé," he disparaged the cop by saying, "Shouldn't you be out chasing some coffee and donuts." He's lucky he didn't get the Rodney King treatment. He was arrested peacefully.

Megan and Ryan had a dinner date. They climbed up to the roof of The Place where he pointed out Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. Though it is not the closest. That distinction goes to Alpha Centauri, 4.35 light-years away from us. Sirius is 8.7 light-years away. Anyway, it was interesting that he chose Sirius because it is known as the Dog Star and earlier in the day they found a stray Golden Retriever puppy.

Alex walked into Jane's apartment and kissed her in the darkness until she realized he wasn't Michael. Alex must have known that Michael would be arrested and wouldn't be there.

Peter's plan to get them out of the elevator was to lift Amanda to the top of it. Just what was she supposed to do once she was up there?

While on the way to the police station, Michael and the cops ran into some real looters. When the cops gave chase, someone carjacked the cruiser with Michael still in it. Now he was also a suspect in stealing the car.

Megan went back to Ryan's apartment because she left her sweater there. After Ryan told her he had a good time, Megan, for no apparent reason, blew up at him. She said she wasn't attracted to him, he wasn't her type and he didn't turn her on. What was that about?

Michael was able to seize control of the police car from the carjacker. He drove to the police station where he was taken into custody. He should have driven back to The Place. Afterall, the cops didn't know who he was because he had no ID. And I'm pretty sure Amanda would have keys to his handcuffs.

Peter finally came to his senses and figured out that Eve was a babe. He told her he was willing to do the relationship thing. As they kissed, Lexi showed up at The Place. Her excuse for being there? She said it was hot and her AC was out and she wanted to use The Place's pool. But she lives at the marina and it seldom gets that hot there at night, especially in November.

Anyway, this led to the line of the week. Lexi invited Peter to join her in the pool. She said, "We can play 'Jaws.' I'll be the shark and eat you all up." If she's the shark, I'll be Captain Quint.

Lexi stripped and dove into the pool. With my keen vision and the frame advance feature of my VCR, I saw that she was not completely naked but wearing a teeny bikini. With the advent of HDTV, if they want us to believe that she is naked, she's going to really have to be naked. Ain't technology grand?

From his apartment, Ryan eyed Lexi's skinny-dip. Bet he wished he had a camera. Lexi invited him to do some synchronized swimming with her, but he declined. What's up with that? He's all pent up because Megan has been rejecting him. And she's very doable. What's wrong with these guys?
