From the September 6th L.A. Daily News:
She’s just resting
Those of you who watched the season finale of "Providence" last spring will recall that the action concluded with series heroine Melina Kanakaredes ending up in a coma. Come October, we’ll see her coming out of the coma, recuperating from a stroke — and Rob Estes becoming her love interest. "I’m a physical therapist who comes to help her, but she’s not crazy about my methods," says Estes. "My character is kind of the anti-doctor. I went to med school, decided it wasn’t all that much and became a house painter. After watching my dog recuperate from a broken hip with no doctors, I returned to the medical profession, but with a very Eastern philosophy. Melina’s character is a very by-the-book doctor, so there are some great conflicts." And some great interaction, to hear him tell it. He says "working with her is great." He adds, "We had a scene where she was supposed to be crying, and I’ll be damned if at the end of it she wasn’t really crying. It was awesome!" |
So his character is the anti-doctor. Does that mean he's like Michael Mancini?
